Q: How soon do I need to order my wedding stationery?
A: The earlier the better! In general, a good time frame is at least 5 months in advance. The design and printing process can take anywhere from 8-12 weeks. We recommend reserving your place on our production schedule as soon as you know your wedding date and venue.

Q: When is the best time to send out Save the Dates, Invitations, and Thank you notes?
A: Save the Dates: 4- 6 months (destination weddings can be as early as a year in advance)
Invitations: at least 6-8 weeks in advance.
Thank you notes: within 3-4 weeks after the gift is received… but better late than never.

Q: I saw a design on your website, can I order that exact one?
A: Everything we design is completely custom to you and your event. The only time we reproduce a design is if it was originally designed for a magazine or photo shoot and not a specific client but we can use the design you like as inspiration for something even more relevant to you!

Q: What is the difference between letterpress and flat printing?
A: Letterpress printing actually presses the printing plate into the paper, leaving an indentation. Flat printing does not leave a texture in the paper – it remains smooth. We’ve created a guide to walk you through all the different printing techniques. Check it out here!

Q: What are my options for addressing the envelopes?
A: Digital calligraphy is printed by a computer. (We can even match a font from your invitation!) It is generally less expensive than hand calligraphy. Hand calligraphy is done by hand and style varies by calligrapher. We can suggest many good calligraphers in the area. Their pricing varies but it’s generally about $4 – $6 per envelope set

Q: Do you offer a mailing service?
A: Yes! We can stuff, stamp and mail out your invitations for you for an additional fee.

Q: What is the best way to save money on my invitations without it looking like we skimped somewhere?
A: We recommend flat printing your insert and envelopes but leaving your main invitation on a heavier paper or more luxe printing process. Guests don’t keep the reply card/envelope (you hope!) so that’s the best place to cut back.

Q: How do to start the process?
A: Fill out our short contact form and we’ll be in touch with next steps!

Q: How can I pay the deposit?
A: The 50% initial deposit can be paid by check, bank transfer or credit card via our online payment portal.

Q: How do you politely say “No children” for a wedding?
A: It is very inappropriate to actually put “no children” on the invitations, so the best way to communicate this to your guests is to put only the parents’ names on the outer and inner envelopes. In most cases, they will ask if they have any doubts or concerns. You could also add “Adult only reception, please” on your wedding website.

Q: Is it okay to tell a guest “no” when they ask to bring a guest?
A: Yes, it is perfectly okay for you to refuse. It is impolite of a guest to ask if he/she can bring a date. However, if the two are engaged or living together, it is polite to invite both, whether verbally or by invitation.
